“Uncork For A Cause” is a collection of various businesses, professional athletes, and celebrities working together to give back to the communities where they live and work.  Developed by TAG Sports, it was created as a way to bring the world of fine wines and unique, personalized collectibles to you, with proceeds to benefit those in need through various national and local foundations and charities around the country.

This year, join Luis Gonzalez and Bronson Arroyo as they unveil their very own limited edition 2006 Napa Valley red wine, produced and bottled by Hill Family Estate winery.  Each player will host charity auction and wine events in several cities around the country and will include other special guests including other professional athletes, managers, coaches, and a few other surprises along the way.  Please register for our newsletter to receive all the details as we finalize plans for each.

Along with the release of their Cabernet, you will be able to purchase one of the most unique sports collectibles available today. Each player will have three bottles of their wine packaged in a limited edition custom wine box which includes The Winebat™, their personal game model bat uniquely stained with Hill Harvest Red Wine Stain and hand-signed by the player.  Only 300 total hand-numbered boxes will be made available to the public.  Check out the accompanying photos of the finished product, the wine staining process, and personalized labels.  Pre-orders for the complete box and very limited individual bottles will begin late August 2008.

From live events and personal appearances, to one-of-a-kind hand-signed collectibles, you, too, can contribute by helping to “Uncork For A Cause.”

More about Luis Gonzalez and his charities:

"Gonzo’s" consistency, professionalism and ethics have earned him a prestigious 19-year major league career, not to mention the respect and admiration of his team members, coaching staff and incredible fan base across the country.  In his first season with the Florida Marlins, Luis brings 19 seasons of leadership to the clubhouse, not to mention 20 seasons of extensive work with numerous community foundations and organizations where he has played along the way. Luis will partner with two different organizations this year: The Florida Marlins Community Foundation http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/fla/community/index.jsp
and Arizona Quest for Kids www.azquestforkids.org.

Luis still makes his home in Phoenix where he settled during his eight years with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  In Arizona, Luis is well known for his tremendous accomplishments while on the team, including the walk-off clinching hit and RBI in game seven of the 2001 World Series.  But his reputation off the field is probably what he’s most proud of.  Luis strongly supports the educational and social goals of Arizona Quest for Kids. The Arizona Quest for Kids (AQFK) mission is simple: to prepare high-potential, low-income students for success in college and beyond.  Luis will be participating in a public event in the Phoenix area this fall as well.

More About Bronson Arroyo and his charities:

A native of Key West, Florida, Bronson Arroyo's career in the Major Leagues has been a great one. The right-hander was an integral part of the Red Sox's dramatic fight to a 2004 World Series victory, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in four games to break Boston's 86-year championship drought. His interests and passion, however, span well beyond the baseball diamond.  An avid musician, he has also developed a successful music career, releasing his first album, Covering the Bases, in 2005. Bronson now utilizes his baseball popularity and his unique talents for music to support numerous local and national charities efforts to help give back to his many fans that have supported him throughout his career.

Bronson will share his very limited collection of 2006 Baseball Blend wine amongst friends and fans in Cincinnati and the Boston area.  Bronson will once again team up with Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes for our severely injured service members and their immediate families. Through a growing network of monetary contributions, donations from building contractors, suppliers, corporate supporters and local volunteers, Homes For Our Troops provides assistance at no cost to the veterans that have served.  Bronson will be participating in public events in Cincinnati and Boston later this year.  To learn more about the incredible work and contributions they are making, visit www.homesforourtroops.org.
