The San Francisco Fire Department suffered a tragic loss recently; Lt. Vincent Perez and Firefighter Paramedic Anthony Valerio lost their lives after battling a fire June 2, 2011.

To honor the lives and heroism of these fallen officers, Cody and Summer Ross have joined the team to Uncork for a Cause with the release of a very limited 2009 Cody Ross Napa Valley red wine, produced and bottled by Hill Family Estate.

Tragically, St. Petersburg Police officers Thomas Baitinger, Jeffrey Yaslowitz and David Crawford lost their lives in the line of duty recently. Sergeant Baitinger, 48, is survived by his wife, Paige. K-9 Officer Yaslowitz, 39, is survived by his wife, Lorraine, and their three children, and Officer Crawford is survived by his wife, Donna, and their daughter.

The stars were definitely out to help Luis Gonzalez unveil his 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet and raise money for the Florida Marlins Community Foundation and their Cornerstones for Kids program. The guests enjoyed an evening of delicious food and desserts prepared by the Riverside Hotel and fine wines from Hill Family Estate, where Luis’ Cabernet was produced and bottled.

Carlos Peña Wine Release to Benefit Families of Fallen Tampa Police Officers

Carlos & Pamela Peña have joined the team to Uncork for a Cause with the release of a very limited production of Carlos Peña red wine from Napa Valley, California. Net proceeds from the sale of this wine will benefit the families of fallen Tampa officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab through the Curtis-Kocab Memorial Fund.

On June 29, 2010, Officer David Curtis pulled over a vehicle for a seemingly routine traffic stop; Officer Jeffrey Kocab arrived shortly after as backup. The next communication was a 911 call reporting two officers shot. Paramedics rushed both officers to Tampa General Hospital where they passed away later that morning. Officer Curtis is survived by his wife Kelly and four sons; Officer Kocab is survived by his wife Sara.

Carlos Peña’s wine will be released during a public event hosted by Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, the exclusive Tampa location for this wine, on Sunday September 26, 2010 at 6:00 PM. Please join the Peña’s and their special guests for an evening complete with the first uncorking of Carlos’ wine, hors d’Oeuvres from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, wine tasting, silent auction items, a few surprise guests, and an opportunity to say thank you to those who put their lives in danger every day: members of the Tampa Police Department.

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation provides a comprehensive approach to helping people with MS maintain their health and well-being. The Foundations resources assist people who have MS, their families and caregivers, regional support groups, and healthcare professionals. The Curtis - Kocab Memorial Fund

On June 29, 2010 at 2:15 a.m., Officer David Curtis attempted to pull over a vehicle with no license plate. Officer Curtis determined the passenger was wanted on a worthless check warrant out of Jacksonville. He called for backup and Officer Jeffrey Kocab arrived. Together they approached the suspect's vehicle on the passenger side. The next communication came from a citizen calling 911 to report two officers were shot. The first responding officers found Officer Curtis and Officer Kocab on the ground and immediately began CPR. Paramedics transported both officers to Tampa General Hospital. Officer Kocab was pronounced dead shortly after arrival to the hospital. Doctors put Officer Curtis on life support. He was pronounced dead later in the morning.

Officer Curtis is survived by his wife Kelly and four sons; Officer Kocab is survived by his wife Sara.

On behalf of The Maddux Foundation, TAG Sports and Hill Family Estate have bottled a very limited production of Greg Maddux Reserve red wine from Napa Valley, California. This is a very small production of premium Napa Valley wine; only 56 cases were bottled.

Join Greg & Kathy Maddux for the release of Greg Maddux’s 2006 Napa Valley wine. Greg’s wine will be offered for sale for the first time, guests purchasing wine will have the opportunity to have it autographed and/or personalized by Greg. No charge for admission, but autographs only for customers purchasing Greg Maddux wine.

For those unable to attend Greg’s wine release, you are welcome to purchase Greg’s wine through Uncork for a Cause. Pricing is identical, and online orders will still be autographed.
